It's right there, between the front and rear door (same position on latest model) how did you miss it?

I've never been near one but it was obvious just looking online at pictures where it is. Surely even easier in the flesh?

Anyway you agreed to pay them exorbitant fees the second you signed the rental agreement. Stick to these companies terms, to the letter, or you get charged. It's just the way it is.

Did you not check the vehicle before taking it? That would have been best time to say "Good Lord! How does one fuel this contraption!"

A growing number of Car Hire firms offer a 'like for like' return policy. Maybe learn from this and try that next time!

This is true -- but even a half tank isn't going to cost anywhere near the £126 the OP was charged.
