Is property the only way to make serious money???
I sold my inherited property 10 years ago seemed like the right choice at the time as had a bad experience with a tennant and crap letting agent, looking back should of stuck with it.3 years after i sold it it was back up for sale at 15k less due to the credit crunch,I been looking at the stock market which seems to be going back down again so who knows what to do??

lots of property up north for far more sensible prices but who knows what will happen, lets face it nobody really knows.............

There's no shortage of Golden Eggs out there, but to do things properly you really need to put in the effort understanding what you are investing in, the risks involved and why it suits your needs.

Unless you really know your stuff property should never be viewed as a short time investment.
  • You can work hard, get a good job, and earn very serious money that way?

Or do you mean, an easy way to make money?

Beans, there's the guaranteed profit right there, beans. I have some... just a few, in a bag, special ones, so don't tell anyone else, but I'll sell them to you at a knock-down price....

Seriously, property is one way to make money. However, it's not (normally) quick and easy as portrayed on the Telly, and you can just as easily (more so, in fact) lose a pot as well. Been there, done that - more than once. It's certainly not a get-rich-quick scheme, except in rare cases.

You can, of course, become a pop star, footballer, WAG of footballer or, like G_M, write Mills & Boon stories and appear in soft p0rn, and achieve bounteous riches. For each youngster that sets out on that road, many, many fall by the wayside.

You can, of course, work hard. Apply yourself at school and university, work a bit of overtime. That will help. So will saving money, being a good MSE'er, pennies and pounds, all that claptrap. But, it works. Hard work doesn't always pay, but it helps. Saving always pays, even if in small amounts.

The only sure way is in my beans, and if you PM me your bank details, I'll even plant them for you...

You are right no one knows.

If you have a bit of spare money (inherited or earned) then spread it around a bit, property, stockmarket, ISA, pension.

There are few people who make a quick profit on property most are in it for the long haul and their profit is merely on paper and not actual.

As far as I am aware there are no golden eggs!

There are Golden Eggs and a fortune from nothing is yours for the finding.

{I still have three sets of beans available, strictly on a first mug served first....)

So what if the stock market is going down, it will go back up again, and anyway, the real money is made in stock investing is by reinvesting dividends into more shares. You get exponential growth
