Does anyone know / have any good resources for teaching financial / money management - especially stuff that would be suitable for special needs pupils? Do any of the banks publish stuff? Any web resources? Anything anywhere? The Department of Education stuff is pretty useless for kids who aren't that academic and there is so much junk to wade through on the net.

Please help me to teach these (vulnerable) kids money management before they go out into the big bad world!

Thank you.

I think that the bbc do something called Cashwise and that Learn Direct have a financial computer programme.

You say 'special needs'? That is a pretty wide term covering physical problems, emotional difficulties, medical disorders, mental health and mental retardation!

Special needs as in kids in mainstream school who have difficulty reading and understanding / retaining complex information. Need to learn in small manageable chunks. Poorly developed number skills / dyscalcula. Learning to be relevant - bascially cutting out the bull!!!!.

I use https://www.moneymatterstome.co.uk with an interactive whiteboard. I know not everyone has them, but it is great when in the workshop/game sections. students like to try complete the tasks. Another suggestion is to put a request on the senco forum web site. People/teachers/ others have probably had a similar request before and they are a friendly bunch.
