Never, and I make a lot of Faster Payments from Nationwide. If it happens again can you take a screen print of the message and post it because I seriously doubt whether Nationwide would ever display such a message for the reason YorkshireBoy gives.

I can assure you it DID display that message!

I was going to do a screenshot but was on my tablet and didn't know how to do it. Plus it showed my Santander sort code and account number and didn't know how to blank that bit out.

The money did arrive the same day so it must have been a glitch with Nationwide. It did tell me a while ago that I'd earned zero interest the previous month on my Regular Saver, which turned out not to be the case.

Posted my reply to Agrinall before I read this!

Although it would be a strange glitch that would cause a message to be displayed that hasn't been valid for several years. It's a pity you weren't able to get a screen shot but I would probably also struggle to do it on a tablet (although I rarely use one for online banking just in case I have to do something that is simple on a laptop but difficult on a tablet).

I have £1500 floating round in the ether. I'm confident it will appear, but I don't like it at all, lol.

How did you survive 4 years ago before Faster Payments was introduced?

I too got the same message ("payment will take 3-5 days") when I made a transfer from a Nationwide Flexaccount to HSBC on Monday morning. It surprised me since it seemed like a return of the old BACS payment days, but as others found, the funds were credited in the HSBC account within an hour or so.

Nationwide have been experiencing problems with their faster payments system for months, from my personal experience it usually happens on Sundays and Mondays.

There is a service status page on their website showing if they are experiencing any issues - they resolve the issues quite quickly, but if you transfer money before the issues are resolved your money can get held up for hours and sometimes for days.

Nationwide are my main account. I'm glad I've just been accepted by another institution to use as a back up. This does seem to be getting quite regular. I'll split my money between the two in future (both paying 3%.)

This has happened to me today for the first time, made a payment of £750 to Halifax at about 1.15pm, still not showing...

Just send another £100 to B'clays and I know it's not been long but that's not showing yet either.

    Is Nationwide having problems?

It better go in today as I have DD's coming out tomorrow!

Same thing has just happened to me today transferring £500 to Santander. It's the 1st time I have ever had this problem with Nationwide.

Edit - It went through about 45 minutes later. 1st time for me it hasn't been instant.
