Normally you would get a response within a week.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

The gathering of info can be weeks to months even years. However, the acknowledgement is within the week.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Why do you think you had PPI in 1987? It was a far from common form of insurance in those days.0

Maybe the poster has a document which shows they paid PPI in 1987. It's not that unusual.
My partner has bank statements which show a loan from 1988 with a single PPI charge listed next to the amount borrowed.
To answer the original question. You should have received an acknowledgement from Lloyds/TSB by now, phone their PPI helpline for an update.
One small piece of advice, if the bank cannot locate payment details, you might need to find some evidence from your own archive. Best of luck.0 -
They have eight weeks to resolve your complaint, but a holding / acknowledgement letter is normally after about a week.0
