Universal credit suspended

Hi there,

I am on Universal credit and have started up a mini business ( so in a start up period ).I had a letter yesterday day stating that my Universal Credit had been suspended, as I have not reported earnings to them for this months assesement period. I have done what I was told to do ie phone them up with my monthly earnings 7 days before the end of the assesement period ( guy at Jobcentre told me to do this every month ). so the correct amount can be adjusted in order to pay that months UC payment.

I will have to phone them up to tell them I have done what they have asked for. I take it this is a genuine error and my universal credit payment will be " un suspended " and my usual payment willbe recieved on the set monthly date??

Thanks in advance.

Yes, phone them and ask if they have made an error.

I doubt anyone on here can give you a definitive reply. Just give them a call and they will answer any questions you have.

You're probably best calling DWP tomorrow morning, Clearly someone has made an error and no one here can tell you why that error was made.... Or how it will be fixed.

Universal Credit are making this error on quite a few claims where the Claimant is reporting self employed earnings. It seems to be a system error somewhere.

It's worth asking them to raise a complaint (they do it over the phone and email it to a Manager).
Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.

Yes, I have no idea what the hell is going on.I have reported July's earnings in due time ( 7 days before, or 14 days after the assesement period ).

What a total farce this universal credit it, especially new claimants like myself who have just started up a self employed business.
