Limescale around base of taps

    Acid will take a wee while, but will work. Try as suggested cotton wool or loo roll to keep any old cheap vinegar in contact with the limescale overnight and check for drying out (won't work dry, has to be wet). In the morning, give it a bit of a scrub with an old toothbrush and repeat if necessary - but this should be effortless and healthy way to do the job
