Do I have a claim?

Hi
I've been going through some old paperwork and found an old agreement for a loan I took out with Lombard Tricity Finance Ltd in 1997 that was signed in store at Tiny Computers to cover the purchase of a PC.
I noticed on the PPI plan details that one of the exclusions for the plan not paying out was if I was made unemployed due to the expiration of a fixed term contract of employment. The load repayments didn't start until a year after it was taken out and was paid off over a 3 year period.
At the time of signing the loan agreement I was on a fixed term 1 year contract that could have been terminated early, but fortunately was renewed at the end of my contract on the same basis until 2000 when I got a permanent position. This means that when I signed the agreement, and for the majority of time it was running I wouldn't have been covered if I was made unemployed.
As the loan was sold in store by Tiny Computers I assume that any claim would have to be directed initially towards them but they went into administration in 2002 and the company who bought them have all ceased trading.
Would it be a lost caused trying to pursue this as a claim and who would I actually direct any claim towards?
Thanks for any advice

Its pre regulation and the firm that sold you PPI no longer exists so its more or less game over I'm afraid.
While you wouldn't have been covered on expiry of your contract you probably would have been if your contract was terminated early.0 -
Complaints for Lombard Tricity Finance are being handled by Santander who will more than likely reject it on the grounds of pre reg 2005, so then you can refer it to the underwriter probably Financial Insurance Group.0
