Need a new Hoover and wanted people's thoughts on a good upright. I know Dyson are good but can't afford them!

I recently bought a GTech Air ram for £120 from Ebay. It is one that someone tried and returned. Gave me a £80 saving though, so I'm more than happy. It works brilliantly, and I recommend it.0

hi cliffsgirl. I have a dyson dc25 animal, which I find is outstanding as I have 3 large dogs!! I bought it from ebay new for less than the shops and would really recommend. I'm also a domestic cleaner and would say if you have no pets indoors that the GTECH airm ram is brilliant! its also very light if lifting is an issue as all dysons seem heavy!0

Neither of the above are Hoovers!I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

I would go for any that don't take a bag and are suitable for pet hair even if you haven't got pets.0

Miele?
Some great deals on amazon.0 -
Miele?

OP does it have to be an upright? Because I believe the Henry vaccumn are best value for money at around £100 and will outlast most uprights 3 or 4 times over and don't be put off by bags as they are very cheap on Amazon and no filters that need cleaning out all the time.0 -
i know its not an upright but +1 for henry. I love mines, esp since it had bags and no pesky filter to empty and clean and bother my dust allergy.0

Although they're usually seen an expensive high end brand, Miele vacuum cleaners aren't that expensive. Some of the cylinders start from around £100. Uprights tend to cost more though. I think they're very good value for money.
As for Dyson, people seem pretty divided on them. I don't like them, but some do.0
