If GlasweJen wants a band 3 job, there's no reason why she shouldn't go for one. The NHS recruitment process is competency based, you can't be overqualified, you just need to demonstrate the given competencies.0 -

so you are repeating my words: there is no reason to show off your 3 degrees in a 3 band job and you shouldn't expect priority because of your degrees0 -

You must be reading a different post to the rest of us - I didn't see any showing off nor an expectation that she would be given priority.
Maybe this is why you find it difficult to find work, if you can't read things properly you're not going to give the correct answers. If you ask at the Jobcentre they'll refer you to someone that can help you with this.0 -
Well one of my degrees is optometry but I can't be an optometrist any more, I'm medically unfit because I'm losing my vision and already in a wheelchair. Because I'm competent in office skills and obviously have good knowledge of medical terms I was applying for jobs at band 3 and 4 in medical records and eventually got offered the job for a band 3 medical typist so can climb to medical secretary in the future if I want.
To be honest my wee part time typing job is suiting me great.0 -
OP with no qualifications it is difficult to progress and earn large amounts, maybe you should be looking to increase qualifications as well as progressing with a career.
If you really want to earn £50k+ with no real training, experience or qualifications then the obvious answer is to become an MP.0 -
The point I'm making is NHS jobs are seen as a good number, over qualified people apply for them all the time so it's hard to get one and even harder with no qualifications.0

I don't understand why most of you post in my thread about the difficulty in finding jobs
when did I say it is difficult for me to find a job?
this thread is about moving up the ladder and the career prospects in a medical lab
obviously some of you cannot comprehend, and instead tell me that I can't, which is really amusing0
