I wish my council would do this. I am 61 but won't be entitled to a pension or a bus pass until I am 65 and 10 months!
Are you sure this is correct? I'm 61 as well (will be 62 in October) and have just checked; the calculator on the Pensions Service website says my state pension age will be 64yrs 8mths 17 days.
ETA sorry, you're right - I just tried it again using 31/07/1954 as my birthdate and it said 65 yrs 9 months and some odd daysThat's rotten.

If the calculator says she will get her pension (and bus pass) at 65 years & 10 months then she is obviously younger than you.
I too am 62 in October and my date is pretty similar to yours (if not identical).
I have a friend who is 10-and-a-half months younger than me, she will be 61 in 1 weeks time.
Her state pension age (and bus pass qualifying date) is 65 years 10 months and 6 days.
I'd guess that catkins was born around mid - to late August 1954.0 -
I'm a February '54 baby -
Your State Pension age is 65 years, 4 months, 10 days
However, as I live in Scotland I got my bus pass at 60 years.0
