If your TV is a newish 'Smart' TV then you can probably connect to it wirelessly over the network, and send your screen directly to the TV.
If not, and you don't have a HDMI socket on the laptop, then you're looking at VGA cables - you're TV may not have appropriate sockets and the quality will probably be horrendous and worse than watching on the laptop in the first place though.0 -
why can the dvd only be watched on the computerDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0

Most flatscreen TVs have a VGA socket - looks like this...
The plastic part is often blue, or sometimes black.
You'll need a VGA-VGA cable to connect it (this is the same as a monitor cable from a desktop PC).
If the TV does not have a VGA socket, then check for a USB socket - if it has one, it may be possible to copy the DVD contents on to a memory stick and play it like that.
Otherwise, some kind of format conversion will be required, and these can get complicated and expensive.

If you want specific advice, post the TV's make & model number.0 -

Plasmat is a type of lens used in large format photography BTW. Nothing to do with TVs at all - In fact its design predates the TV by a number of years.0

It's a silent "T", like in pedantry.0
