Praise To Dunelm - Free Coffee

I bought a rather large amount of household items yesterday in store. However when checking my receipt once I got home, I found out I had been overcharged by £8. Not a major amount, but a 4 mile trek back to the store to get a refund was not ideal. However, full praise for Dunelm Mill, without asking they gave 'us' a £5 gift card for the inconvenience which happily bought us coffee in the cafe!! :j

Right, so it wasn't actually a free ciffe but a £5 gift card.

    Misleading thread title.

I assume that you also got the 8 pound refund in addition to that 5 pound credit? Otherwise I certainly wouldn't be praising them! :p

I think companies who do that little extra to put things right are wonderful. They buy loyalty way beyond the cost!

I also get fed up with people lining up to criticise, and look for detail after detail as if some forensic analysis of the facts is required to support any and every statement

Well Op seems happy and that's all that matters. Too many people slate companies okay much maybe warranted but too few people dont praise companies when they do right thing. it always nice when companies that do mess up go the extra mile

    Yes indeed...
I got my 'first' call like this on Monday. Played along with them since I was bored... before eventually telling them "'F**k Off You Scamming B***ards!" I am registered with the TPS.

Can't you find another forum to go and annoy?
I can't remember the last time you actually contributed something worth reading, rather than mindless drivel.

The difference being, of course, that the people on this thread who do the snarky nitpicking make a choice to come here and do that.

Whereas the instance of BEG spending some time was actually instigated by some thieving scumbag.

And whereas her time could be considered usefully spent in that whilst the scammer was occupied with her it couldn't be leaching off someone more vulnerable, those who posted their pedantic drivel here (and the sad-sacks that support them) achieved nothing of any worth.
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.

Yes, especially those scrolling through posts to see what other people write on other threads... Almost as pathetic as me talking to a scammer on the phone wouldn't you say!
