I had a similar situation when with Saga. My named driver was hit by a third party, who admitted liability.
Saga handed over the claim to their "claim management co" they provided a hire can and dealt with the other insurance company. They then charged the other company 4 x the hire cost and the other insurance co would not pay. They told me I had to assist with their inflated claim or they would sue me.
I refused and eventually they went away.
The lesson here is :- if the claim company ask you to sign a credit hire agreement for a courtesy car, refuse.0
