Natwest business review letter

Hi

I have received a letter yesterday from Natwest regarding updating/confirming my details so they can comply with the Money laundering act...

I completed this online last night https://business-review.natwest.com

Does this suggest they have an issue? or is it just a routine confirmation and update of details...

I must say this concerns me, no idea why as everything I do is 110% above board, maybe I am just paranoid... Lol

I have emailed my accountant about this and also the helpline at Natwest to see if I can find out why, after 8 years of having the account the have now decided to send this...

    Looks like a routine request to me, I wouldn't worry.

    I am just a very paranoid chap, especially when things just happen out of the blue ...

    I have completed it and know I have nothing to worry about, but I do Lol It seems they just want to confirm what I do, which s nothing more exciting as a large forum and website for vehicle enthusiasts which does quite well on the advertising front.. Run as a part time business it is sort of a retirement fund...Lol

    Be interested to know if anyone else has received the letter ;)

    There have been quite a few posts here about people having to complete extra identity verification for personal accounts they have had for years. Requirements are getting stricter and some banks are having to play catch up.

    Self explanatory.
    United Kingdom financial institutions must observe all relevant regulations. To comply with anti-money laundering and other regulatory obligations, we are required to review and update our records of information for all our customers on a regular basis, which includes re-verifying information such as the nature of business and trading activity.

    The length of time you've held an account is of no relevance.
  • Unbelievable!!

    3 weeks after I completed the form online I have just received exactly the same request again.... I even emailed them to confirm they had received the form, NO REPLY..

    So, I have just completed online again and requested confirmation again...

    Think I may complete the form as well and put it through the bank door!

    I have nothing at all to hide, but it's amazing how bad this makes me feel because of the dishonest idiots out there :(
