Getting online with my Centrino laptop

I have an Acer Aspire laptop with a Centrino wireless facility. I've no idea what I'm cocking up, but I cannot get it to work with my Thomson Speedtouch router. The laptop identifies my network no problem, but when I enter the WPA password and seek to store it etc., the laptop just searches for ages and then tells me that I only have limited connectivity. As a stopgap measure, I've installed a USB wireless receiver and get online with that, but this is annoying me and I'd like to sort it out. Suggestions anyone?

Are you using Acer software or windows software to manage the wireless connection? Try saving a long random hex passphrase from here to a file and copy and paste when required.
Hope the niagras get better soon!

I use the Windows utility for connection. As for this hex password thingummy, what do I do with it? I have my router nicely configured and don't much fancy entering another password key to be honest.
And by the way, they are very itchy!:footie:0 -

I thought that you were wanting to sort out your connection problem. It is very easy to try a change to your encryption key and you would only be changing one parameter of your routers set-up but if you "don't much fancy entering another password key to be honest" how do you expect to sort out your problem?
