I would not have thought so. If you had an inheritance then possibly you would have no need for the PPI cover?, but the decision of whether it was mis sold is based on your circumstances at the time of sale, unless you knew you were about to receive that inheritance when you obtained the loan
Regardless, just tell the truth.0 -
I am not sure why they would ask that unless it formed part of your complaint. Did it and in what context?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

If you knew at the point of sale that you were going to receive an inheritance within the term of the loan then depending upon the size of the inheritance it may have negated the need for a PPI policy thus making it unsuitable. It does not 'scupper' your complaint, it may support it depending on the answer.
Lloyds often ask that question. Part of assessing whether you had any foreseeable changes in circumstances that would have affected your need for the policy.

The Loan & PPI was taken out before there was any knowledge that an inheritance was going to be winging it`s way to me although said windfall did clear a loan and accompanying PPI0

It's simply part of their investigations into your complaint. Just tell the truth.0
