How Can I Stop Windows 10 Automatically Downloading!

Tried Windows 10, liked it but it didn't like working on a HP laptop, so reverted back to Windows 8.1 after a week.
I stopped automatic updates and hid certain updates including the actual Windows 10 download and the silly icon update what was appearing on the taskbar.
I've just gone to do some manual updates, and low and behold my computer is now asking me to restart to finish my upgrade to Windows 10!
I checked the updates and none mentioned they were for Windows 10, they all said updates for Windows 8.1 / Office / Security Updates.
I don't want Windows 10, now if I restart my computer is it going to start upgrading me again.
Once was enough! Help?

OP, that is how I ended up with Windows 10 a few days ago. Manual updates so I pick and chose. All security updates so let then run, next thing downloading Windows 10. I am on a Compaq(the brand is owned by HP), so far all is well.:shocked:0

Anyone know the answer. I really do not want to stop updating my current Windows 8.1.0

Do not install KB3035583.
If you have installed it, then uninstall it immediately.

After uninstalling KB3035583 , to prevent it reinstalling, need to go to windows update, check for updates and select hide update for KB3035583.0

Thank you both, I had already done that previously, they are hidden!
I did figure out last night that when I manually do updates, my laptop just likes to inform me that Windows 10 is available to download / upgrade to - despite the KB3035583 being hidden. Seems it will constantly remind every time I do a manual update! Was rather relieved it didn't download again under another bizarre KB???????? update!
This is what I see, so no wonder I panicked! Made me think when I click restart sodding Windows 10 was going to download again!

There is some more advice here;

Depending on which scenario fits your circumstances best you may need to do a disk clean-up to remove temporary files.0 -

Oh I do that all the time anyway... kind of an OCD thing about it! :rotfl:0
