Weeds in the lawn
What is the best way to kill dandelions/dockleaves in the lawn ?
We have tried several "doses" of dab on roundup gel and that hasn't even touched them
We have tried several different brands of spread on granular weed 'n feed over the years including EVERGREEN - most don't help at all
a Neighbour recommended sprinkling table salt on them - which appears to help (slightly)
Hence - what is the best lawn weedkilller out there ?

To start with I need to remind you that it is not a once a year type job, it is an every week job

Any weed & feed granular application about 4 times a year, best if done a few days after cutting.
I also use a lawn 'spot' weedkiller that doesn't harm the grass if not watered in. I use Verdone Extra and I mix it in a hand sprayer then just spray it onto the individual weeds anytime I see them.
There are no quick answers, it's a job that may take a couple of seasons to get right on top of then as I say, every week at least with the spot spray.0 -

It looks as if I am going to have to resort to an extraction tool !!0 -
I personally find the dab on Round-up absolutely useless.
I use selective weedkillers on my paddocks, eg. MCPA, depitox, dicamba but wouldn't want to use them on my lawn. I generally find the weed and feed stuff is ok but then again I'm not too fussy about my lawn:)
Try looking on the Progreen website where I purchase paddock treatments. There are products specifically for lawns.0 -

I would go with 'an extraction tool'
You get an instant resultas I say, every week at least with the spot spray.
or once every few weeks, less cost and you don't have dying weeds all the time,
What ever you do its a never ending battle.0 -
I'm a fan of Verdone too, I used the liquid concentrate in April and the ready mix hand spray version whenever I see a weed. I usually just buy whatever's on special offer but this year paid a little more for these two and it's been well worth it. The persistent weed that was taking over my lawn (not sure what it is) is now more or less under control. If I can curb my natural instinct to save money I'll be buying Verdone next time too.0
