i had to have an assessment for a blue badge. This was before i got high rate mobility.0

Yeah and I turned up to get an assessment in my wheelchair, unable to stand without aids and got turned away because the person who did the assessments was off on long term sick. I had to wait for the DLA to be rewarded and then apply that way.0

Thought this may be of interest if your wife does end up in receipt of benefits or for those who already are did-card.co.uk saves carrying letters around. Also if she is struggling, you can still work and make a claim for disability benefits, it's all about how her disability affects daily living. There are many disabled people in work. In terms of help at home (aids) you can contact you local adult social services and get an OT assessment done.0
