HI all, I placed a bid on ebay on a cd that was due to finish in a few hours. I was outbid instantly so placed a bid with another seller for the same cd finishing in a few days. The problem is that I then got an email off ebay telling me that the bid on the first item had been retracted and i was the winning bidder and then I won the item. I am still the winning bidder on the other item too and as it's not a very well known performer on the cd i don't imagine there will be any more bids. I certainly don't want two of the cd's and I don't want to spoil my good feedback. I have contacted the seller of the first cd to explain all this and he has asked me to see if i can cancel my bid for the other item. Can anybody offer any help please

Hi, Cancel Ur Bid For The 2nd Item, Go To Bid History Click On Cancel Bids, And Fill In The Bid Retraction Form, Remember To Write Down The Item Number Before You Go To The Bid Retracion Form, Gud Luck!0

You're not meant to do it, but try to remove the bid from the listing that hasn't yet finished.
Asking the seller to cancel your bid for you would be the appropriate action. If you have to, you could retract your bid, but you run the risk of being reported for an invalid bid retraction.
Never bid on concurrent listings.... this kind of thing happens often enough to be a problem! My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
IMHO OP may have been shilled and then un-shilled in the first listing!!
definitely contact second seller, if there isn't a response up till an hour or so from the finish time retract your bid, you cant receive a neg for a bid retraction cos you haven't entered into the transaction until you win0
