Cost dying hair in a salon?

One suggestion to take the time between colours down would be to have streaks put in at a salon. I found the grey/white hairs didn't show for months (this was a permanent colour job though not semi).
It would cost more initially but be cheaper overall.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hi, I live in Yorkshire and pay £60 with a cut and blow dry. Salons around here vary from £40 to £70 as a comparison. I make mine last 8 or 9 weeks.
It depends what colour you are going to do. Blonde is much harder than darker colours for example. The advantage of a salon is that they can advise you on colours and what will suit you. If you do go to a salon dont be afraid to tell them that you are on a tight budget, you are paying for a service after all.0 -
I live in Glasgow and have long hair. If I am just getting a full head tinted it costs £55 however my daughter who has long hair too gets foils done and it costs over £75 for that.0

Kim Kim the place is called John Carne in Guildford. Thanks to the rest for the answers, I'm afraid I'll have to learn to do it myself

I would try the local college. I am lucky where I live since we have a big college with a proper salon. The downside is sometimes it is time consuming if I get a trainee that's a little unsure of themselves and needs constant reassurance from the tutor. Usually priced about £10 for a colour!0
