Reclaimed Barclays PPI

This is my first post as I thought I should share it to inspire others to reclaim PPI. I previously only ever had PPI once (or so I thought) as any loans or credit cards I always insisted I didn't want or need PPI. After hearing stories and reading Martin Lewis' newsletters I decided to ask my old bank, Barclays for a full banking history.
I used the moneysaving expert templates and sent the fee off and received a huge envelope of my entire banking history, with loan applications, credit cards, mortgage and noticed a loan from 1998 had PPI on it even though I knew I never asked for it. I then used the PPI claim templates and sent them off to Barclays on the 2nd of June. I received a reply within 2 weeks saying one loan was not covered as no PPI was taken out but 2 were being investigated (even though I thought only 1 loan had PPI). Despite my claim going over their own time limit and me chasing it up I am pleased to report that yesterday (some 10.5 weeks after submitting my claim) I received a big cheque for £8438.76p for 2 loans which had PPI from 20years and 17 years ago. :j
It goes to show that if you are thinking of claiming but "can't be bothered" or think you won't get anything like I did; just invest about an hour or so and then you might get a nice cheque. All in all it cost me £10 for my banking history and two 1st class stamps for nearly £8.5k.
Thank you to Martin Lewis and the Moneysaving Expert team for your help and inspiration - oh and my wife for nagging me to do it.
