What your credit limit says about your credit score

Hi all,
My other half and I both have m&s credit cards - I applied and got mine last year, she applied and got hers about a month ago.
However her credit limit is £500 higher than mine. This came as a (pleasant) surprise, I expected she would get a lower credit limit as she hasn't been fully employed in the last 12 months and she has a lower income (approx £9k less). Also I've been on electoral role for 5 years, whereas only 1 for her etc etc so I put these all together and guessed she would get a lower credit limit?
The only things I can think of are that we currently live separately (with respective parents) and she's in a much posher area than me. Also she's had a contract phone for at least 5 years whereas for me only one year - these are the only regular debits either of us have had, so she has a longer credit history.
Does her higher credit limit imply she has a higher credit score?
Or is credit limit not affected by credit score?
Any knowledge / advice on credit limits and credit score is greatly appreciated

Credit score has nothing to do with it.
It really just comes down to how the workers at the credit card provider are feeling on the day. They enter variables into the computer and they change on a daily basis.
To compare fairly next time (in about 3 months) you should both try and apply at exactly the same time.
Maybe it's her age. Closer to retirement and the CC limit might be less. Just out of school and the limit might be less. At your peak earning age and you'll get the best offer just at the point in your life when you don't need any credit at all.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
