New boiler - idea of costs

Hello
I need to get a new boiler as the one currently in place is beyond repair. It will be a straight swap, no changes to the central heating system.
I live in a 1920s three bedroom property with spacious rooms and high ceilings, in Essex.
Would anyone be able to give me an idea of what costs to anticipate please?

On 23.6.15 I panicked when I realised I owed £37,311.62

You need to go to an installer and get a quote. It's completely pointless asking on a forum.
What are you going to say to a prospective installer. "The people on the forum said it should cost £xxx."
I think that I know what the reply is likely to be.
All jobs will have different problems and need to be looked at properly to establish just what those problems might be.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
It won't necessarily be a 'straight swap': the flueing may need altering to comply with current regs, the gas supply pipe may need upgrading, a condensate drain has to be allowed for if the existing boiler is pre-condensing introduction.
We don't even know if it's a combi or conventional boiler, or the required rating.
But how does £2.5K sound for a wild guess?
PS: if it's BG who say it's beyond repair, get a second opinion. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thank you both.
I just wanted to get an idea of costs, not a quote on here, for budgeting purposes.
It is not BG, it's two local plumbers that advised it is beyond repair. It was installed poorly at the beginning, 9 years ago and it has been nothing but huge repair bills ever since.

9 years some would consider that a little on the old side but check if the manufactures offer repairs most do a full fixed price repair were they’ll replace nearly every part for the fixed price? which for a general gas fitter would be non economical to do ?0

That's really helpful information, thank you. I will follow this up.

Two colleagues at work had their boilers changed recently (in Essex) - both were about £1800 - local independent plumbers. One was a Gloworm (personally recommend), I think the other was a Worcester. Both needed some changes to pipework and flues, etc.
Good luck,
