Chrysotile Asbestos in Plaster

I was looking to replaster our hall to a smooth finish. The house was last decorated in the 70s and the plasterer suggested that we should get it tested for asbestos. The tests showed that chrysotile was used as a textured coating on the plaster.
I read online that the plaster could be removed with a steam gun but would appreciate any advice on how i could deal with this
Ideally I would just like the plasterer to skim over the rough existing artex to a smooth finish, is this still possible? What other options are available?
I know asbestos isnt too dangerous when not disturbed, would it be possible for us to put wall lights up?
Appreciate any advice..
