Keep a copy of this by your side during interview, Any changes the OR makes then note them down. Any you want to increase, if he doesn't then say to him that you were working things out and feel that you haven't calculated enough for those expenses.

Do you pay any professional/union fees at all?

Do you not have fully comp. breakdown cover?

But the cigarettes and alcohol won't be allowed I'm afraid. Though if anyone has a different experience of this then I won't mind being corrected, I have never seen it.

Just keep quiet until you know whether he is or not.

Entertainment........................... 48 This is for Gym memberships and using the leisure facilities As I said in my other post this is not normally an allowable expense but some OR's will let it stand, just wait and see what is said and try and fight your corner. The gym is a luxury.

They are deemed a luxury and not a necessity I am afraid. I assume you have been to your Dr. for help.

  • How much a month should a normal household budget for groceries including having to provide 3 meals a day plus food for work etc?

According to the Government's own Income and Expenditure for National Statistics in the UK £423 is an average for two adults so you should be ok with that.

There is absolutely no way the OR will allow for Cigarettes and/or Alcohol. Your other travel costs will have to robustly justified as well. Work meals are normally taken out of the Household expenses. Some OR's allow them as separate expenses although I have heard about OR's advising people to take sandwiches to save money. Unless your Gym membership is advised by your Doctor I doubt the OR will allow it.

Sorry to be so negative but you are bankrupt for a reason and unfortunately your spending is going to be under a lot of scrutiny during the interview. But if you are honest with the OR you will be fine.

Good luck today, please let us know how it goes. Once you know how much you need to live on it's much easier to prepare a budget and look forward to getting on with the rest of your life and putting all this behind you. Move on to the next challenge.

Good luck with giving up smoking too, not easy but yes, go to your doctor, there's lots of (free) help out there. You may find it easier once you don't have to live with all this stress.

Don't forget to let us know.

Groceries etc. ......................... 500 this includes meals for work and dog food. The reason i have to buy my food is i work on a Warship so we can not store sandwiches, salads etc as we have no fridges in our accommodation which is allowed by the catering staff due to hygiene reasons.

Main reasons are that i was off work for 11 months in 2013 with lower back pain which almost resulted in me being discharged and if i was to travel to the base to use the facilities it would be a 18 mile round trip so that would cost more in fuel?
