Rung BT, £3.39 to be deducted from my next Direct Debit, We shall see. Also asked for BT Sport to be removed altogether as I would never watch it. I was told it was free so why did I want to remove it, same reason given. Passed to another department that gave me 1001 reasons why I should keep it, including having to pay an activation fee should I ever change my mind, but in the end agreed to remove it.0

I got a shock on my August bill they wanted to charge me £6.45 for the sports but I was sure I had already subscribed to get it free for 18 months after a few emails starting with one to Libby Barr whose name appears on all the stuff advertising BT and the email I received telling me of the increase unless I renewed my BB to another 18 months. I chose to subscribe just for the football and for some reason printed out the confirmation rather than just saving a screen capture of the relative info. She passed it down to the complaints department and at the time I couldn't find any confirmation of subscribing to the renewal, well the complaints wanted to close the case and I decided to tidy up my computer table and the last thing I found was the printed confirmation of subscribing for another 18 months to get free sports so I sent an attachment of the first page clearly showing I had renewed the contract on the day I opened the email the only thing was that just to check I started the process again through the link in the original email only to find the default option was to charge the customer £5 for the package, to get the free sports you had to scroll over half way down the page. I pointed this out to the person I had been emailing saying that a link advertising something for free should automatically choose the option when clicking the link and not expect a person, who is medicated and doesn't take in things, to have to look for the free option. I got the £6.45 credited back on the next bill.Someone please tell me what money is0

Ofcom didn't agree, but I do. All providers have the right to increase prices mid-term (others have been doing this for years) but I don't like the way BT have done it (changed the sport content line-up I mean). They should have let current contracts run.
The thing to do when phoning them to arrange your BB is clearly ask them if the price is guaranteed for the full term of the minimum period of the contract and record the call if the person say it is then you have a get out clause in the contract that IMHO can be invoked within the minimum contract period, without penalty, should they try to raise the price. I did this some years ago at an old address when getting virgin as a TV provider when I emailed them the recording and told them where on the recording the person had said the price remained the same for the full minimum period of the contract, then you have the ammo and the company doesn't have a leg to stand on.Someone please tell me what money is0
