Irregular Tiles

I am planning to get my kitchen tiled and got some sample tiles from Tons of Tiles, though the same tiles are also in Topps. The tiles are hexagonal in shape and are made in spain I have had a few quotes - and one of the men mentioned that the tiles were irregular, in that the edges and angles weren't all the same length.
He said that he wouldn't recommend working with these tiles
I emailed the company to ask if sample tiles were seconds which would explain the irregularity , but they said that the irregular length was part of the charm
I wasn't massively impressed with the tiler anyway, but hexagonal tiles of slightly different shapes don't sound good to me, however I can't see a company selling tiles that are hard to fit.
This is my first bought house and i have never had to do this sort of thing before .
Is it common/acceptable that tiles aren't exact and should a good tiler be able to handle this sort of thing
Much appreciated

Yes there are tiles on the market that are slightly irregular & they tend to give a rustic or a hand made tile look. My own Johnson kitchen tiles are like this & as long as you have an experienced person do the work then they should look perfectly fine once job is completed. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

There some utter garbage on the market, Johnsons produce some of them
Ceramic tiles can vary in size, we've seen some as much as 3mm over. 200x300mm tile. There's only I much a spacer and a pro tiler can accommodate !Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
