Do you mean Club Europe? They do offer upgrades at Terminal 5, are you getting an upgrade option online? Have you checked if there is availability?

I wouldn't pay much to upgrade to CE. Save it for a nice meal instead?

I am booking hotel and flight combined and they dont give that option online to upgrade. I only saw one for a room.

but yes it would be upgrading to club europe... they want double if we book flight only.

As tomtontom has said, CE is not worth the upgrade so save your money:cool:

    What's your destination?

An upgrade would give you fast track security, lounge access, priority boarding, a slightly bigger seat and a tiny meal. It's a nice freebie to get but I don't think it's worth paying much for, especially on a short (<2 hr) flight.

There's thread on Flyertalk about the cost of BA Airport Upgrades:
    http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-executive-club/1568695-airport-upgrade-aup-cost-tracking-thread.html#

You've got to ask yourself whether it is worth around £100 each for the pleasure of being at the front of the plane...

Seat and legroom are the same size as economy. Middle seat is blocked.
Good for TP if you are a little short, but that's probably not of value to the OP.

Couple of champagnes if that's a bonus for you in CE. Lounge access maybe worth it for a special holiday, but money is better spent on a sit down meal and drinks in the airport.

    [edit]

You can book CE and hotel from the outset and it's typically cheaper than buying a CE ticket alone.

Yes, I've done that several times before as a special treat for weekends away. If you play around with dates and routes you can get some surprisingly good CE+hotel deals.

    Marie,

As others have said CE isn't so great that it's worth paying a lot extra for. We paid an extra £20 when we flew to Geneva, but it wasn't worth much more than that.

On BA.com you can choose your travel class when booking a flight+hotel, again as others have said you may get a deal doing it that way.

Cheap upgrades at the airport aren't guarenteed - if they were everyone would book economy and wait for a bargain!

Alitalia have flights from LCY to Rome in a small aircraft with 2-2 seating which is nicer than 3-3 if there are only 2 of you. LCY is quieter on a Saturday morning as well.
