3 year old mercedes rattle rear offside

As in title. Anyone know what it could be before I take it into garage. Much worse when road is uneven and bumpy.

Door catch is a possibility. See if stops with the door open (obviously do this at low speed in an empty car park or something).

Thanks Colin 79666 I'll give that a go. Although noise seems to be coming from wheel axle area. My initial thought was it's the roof folded in boot. Can hear it with roof up and windows down so not related to roof.

Broken spring or the damper (shock absorber) has failed and leaking oil/gas.

Mercedes make almost 20 models of car. An indication of which type you have may produce more responses.

Unlikely door related. Suspect more like a drop link or some kind of suspension bushing.

Whilst diagnostics by forum is almost impossible, +1 on the broken spring - had it myself - a metallic rattle, almost from inside the boot.

second on the broken spring, mine was at the front on a C-class but it sounded like it was at the back.
