Warning: Kirkwoods Solicitors (Stanmore, London)

Went in to Kirkwoods Solicitors (Stanmore) to try and get four documents certified for a mortgage renewal. Kirkwoods wanted to charge £100 to certify four documents that later found out typically cost £5 a go. Thought £100 was a bit steep so popped over the road to another firm (LMK) who charged me £5 a pop (apparently that's the typical going rate). Total cost was £20, so Kirkwoods are trying to charge me five times the going rate. The whole process took 10 minutes and involved putting the office stamp on four pieces of paper.

Buyer beware, free market or not this is just blatant racketeering. Kirkwoods, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Just posting this up for anyone who lives in the Stanmore area who are in need of a solicitors. If your going to use Kirkwoods make sure you at least find out what other solicitors in the area charge.
