Hi,
Posting on behalf of a friend who has flights / road trip booked over Christmas and New Year for Western USA. Just having difficulty finding somewhere to stay on 30th December for 3 nights (checking out 2nd Jan) that is between Las Vegas and en route to San Francisco (where they are ending their trip).
A ranch, a lodge, or somewhere in the wine regions so they can have a good New Year would be ideal
i.e Carmel, Monterey etc
Budget up to £200 per night - £600 total.
Has anyone done a similar route and has a lovely place to recommend ?
Thanks in advance

Hi there
We did this trip (San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and back to Cisco) a few years back and stayed in Santa Barbara for some nights. I really loved it , there was a great atmosphere and the beach was lovely. Sorry but I can't remember where we stayed as it was a while ago and anyway we were on a much tighter budget than your friend!0 -
Thanks for suggesting Santa Barbara, it does look nice. The budget is necessary for staying over new year
All the hotels that are nicer than a travelodge charge new year supplements  ****************************0 -
We have done the Santa Barbara stop too, only stayed one night and we weish we had been there longer. Very nice place.
Few years ago, think we stayed at the Radisson which was quite good.0 -
Sorry for the poor spelling in previous post, all fingers and thumbs today.0
