CTC and WTC awarded at same time?

Looking for advice from people who applied for both Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit at the same time. Did you receive your award letters for both parts at the same time or are they assessed and awarded separately?
Reason I ask is that I have received an award letter for Child Tax Credit and have received the first payment but there is no mention of Working Tax Credit, which I was expecting to be entitled to as I meet the criteria for the severe disability enhancement.
Is it normal for one part to be awarded and a decision made on the other part separately?
