My dog will hate you now, because he 'used to' (prior to your post) get quite a few bananas that were a bit over ripe. Can you just eat them normally (rather than in a smoothy)? I usually have banana slices on my cereal.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

overly ripe bananas are great for banana bread or 2 ingredients (banana+egg) pancakes! Unless you have LOADS of bananas
I thought bananas were not too good for dogs!0 -

Bananas are OK for dogs, but you should give them to dogs in moderation, they won't do any harm, but they can act as a laxative.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

I don't see why you couldn't just eat the slices frozen but the whizzing up in a smoothie bit makes them taste sweeter. My hubbie likes eating frozen grapes as they are a bit like sweets.0 -

your hubbie is onto something... frozen grapes are good instead of ice cubes0 -
Stewed and then frozen blackberries are great. I can't be arsed but my mum picks them, stews them then freezes them in individual portions. They're great just as a frozen block (like icelolly) but even better nuked in the microwave then served with ice cold vanilla icecream.
Makes sitting through a dinner of labour party talk just about tolerable.Left is never right but I always am.0 -
Lots of ideas here. Yes I freeze fruit. Have had a glut of raspberries and have been freezing them. I noticed there are some blackberries growing wild near us so I shall be foraging those and freezing them too.
If you grow roses they love banana peel, the potassium feeds them.
coffee grinds, teas bags, egg shells can all go straight on to the garden too.
I rarely throw food away.
I read on the Old style thread that some people use veg peelings to make stock, not tried that yet but am prepared to give it a go.
Banana bread - yum, yum. Not tried banana pancakes but shall give them a whirl.0
