Removing chalk lines from ceiling

I had a spark in last night fitting spot lights in our new living room ceiling. They look great but he left two long chalk lines on the plaster.
My brother said that chalk lines will show up on plaster if you paint over them.
Is there an easy way to remove them? I dont see much on Google about it

by the way chalk and plaster are made of the same thing, white crumbly stuff, unless the spark has used wax marker.0

I haven't tried it yet as he was finished late but I will have to look at it when I get home, was just hoping there was a recognised way to remove them properly0
