Seriously, you go to an American site to learn what words mean in the UK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why not go somewhere where they know about the English language, like Cambridge for instance.

There you go, French fries...Long and thin.0 -
Sainsbobs do some spicy coated French fries which are lovely, altho not the cheapest.
Recently also bought Mr Al's French fries for 59p for 1 kg, which I was very pleasantly surprised by0 -
French Fries are those evil skinny things like you get in Mcds. Chips are proper fat things and apparently a bit better for you (or less bad) as there is a smaller surface area to pick up fat. When we have them about once a fortnight, we like McCains Home Fries."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

This says nothing about how thin they are. Just means they are cut in strips
Alternatively go to oxford and "french fries" = "chips"

I go one better and buy a couple of spuds, peel them par boil for 10 minutes ,drain, pat dry and cook them myself, but then I am a frugal old gal.Takes all of 10 minutes to prepare at a fraction of the cost of a bag of frozen ones0 -
Can't beat proper home cooked chips but I bought a bag of oven chips from Aldi last week (the specially selected chunky ones) to try and was pleasantly surprised.0

Yes I agree with you. Plus they actually grill under the grill quite well.
Only tried these recently because they have changed the processor on their other potato products, they are now awful. The more I live, the more I learn.
