No notice of my tariff ending, until latest bill received- and they whacked on £6 a month..

As TalkTalk will be taking over, it seems Tesco uninterested in trying to 'retain' customers- claiming not allowed to offer 'free' b/b anymore?

A quick search shows MSE have a much better deal with TT anyway, if I am a new customer.. but where do I stand, stuck in between??

The usual approach is to ring up their cancellations department and point out how expensive they are and what good deals you can get elsewhere.

Then see if they make you an offer to persuade you to stay.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
  • I recently moved home and after transferring my broadband I realised the talk talk service was fairly poor in terms of connection loss and speed. I decided to switch providers and upon cancelling my contract with talk talk they want to charge me 180 in fees. This is based on talk talk signing me up to an 18month contract which I never agreed to. Apparently this is standard with talk talk when a house move occurs. I was not on a contract at my previous address as it had expired, I'm fairly annoyed when being told that they signed me up to an 18mpnth contract at the same rolling contract monthly rate.

What measures can I take to dispute this. As far as I'm concerned I never agreed to a new contract and talk talk never discussed signing me up to an 18month contract at their worst package rate.

I've contacted ofcom but not sure what further action to take. I presume i'll have to pay the fee but would like to warn others about the underhand practices talk talk are taking

Its normal for ISPs to start a new contract on a move . See multiple identical posts .
Ofcom require you to go through the ISPs complaints first .

After politely disturbing their CEO (received a nice reply), I got flurry of calls / emails, free b/b reinstated!
