Initially I cleaned it off and this needed doing frequently when using Liquid (Aerial) but once I switched to powder it's fine, never seen a ring a black mould since! Once every 3 months I also run a hot 90c wash with white vinegar in.

I actually read somewhere about liquid being the cause of black mould which is why I switched!

I think liquid can gunge up the machine.

The problem is that most people don't use hot enough temps so it gets manky no matter what you use.

Hence its good practice to run an empty machine on the hottest wash possible with soda crystals and vinegar in it.

aldis liquid is pretty good and I only use half a capful at a time and it cleans really well
