As said in this thread, the agent did nothing wrong.
Being a sour loser and alienating the agent will not help you.0 -

People have also said that the agent did do something wrong. But you feel feel to read what you what.0 -
Would it have changed your approach if you had known the the exact amount of the earlier offers that had been previously made, which were below the asking price?0

Its a good question. I don't know the answer too. It definitely would have be interesting to know. Were all the offers about the same? if we're talking a couple of 000s below asking then its clear the demand is high and the property is sought after. If they were 20 grand below then we would defintely think differently.0 -

The EA works for the Vendor.
The Vendor asked the EA to send an email to the specification written "We have asking price offer, lets have sealed bids"
The EA did what we was told. Your gonna be nice to someone who is gonna win you several thousand pounds of business.
Where I dont approve of the method employed (basically upping the asking price) the practice is legal and probably something we would all contemplate if we thought we could get an extra buck.
Granted the Vendor does not sound too nice, and be weary of progressing as he may "up" again before exchange.0
