I would like to improve my driving - I already have a license but have a few bad (dangerous) habits, such as not getting into correct lanes at roundabouts. How can I find out which instructors are the 'best' in ironing out my bad habits. Online reviews are only so helpful and not many focus on correcting. I got my licence 20 years ago, hundreds of miles away and so can not go back to my original instructor.
The prices also vary widely for defensive driving and I don't know what to do.

You could start with the Institute of Advanced Motorists - for about £40 you can do a one hour driving assesment, and I would expect them to then be able to suggest to you local options for imprioving / corecting bad habots.
Well done for wanting to improve!

After 25 years' driving my OH had to surrender her licence for a couple of years because of illness. When she had recovered enough for DVLA to be satisfied she was fit to drive again she booked a lesson with a local driving instructor just to get her back into the swing of it. She only had the one lesson, he said she was fine and if she'd needed to take a test (she didn't) she would pass.
The moral being, the local guy who just knows how to get people through the driving test is probably not best equipped if you want to be come a really good driver. The IAM, as above, is probably the place to start.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Yep, the IAM is a great place to start. And - yes - well done for taking the control of two tons of fast moving metal seriously!!0
