The engine is F**ked. The injectors are messed up, the heads would have over headed; and the engine block could be warped. Get a full independent written assessment, as you may have to go to court

the heads would have over headed , pardon , its not a fancy V engine

and the engine block could be warped , why? there was no mention of overheating or coolant leaking out.

the worse scenario is that the fuel system "might" be damaged , ie, fuel pump, injectors , if indeed those are used on this model of HONDA

Filling a diesel car with petrol usually wrecks the engine within a few miles, as you managed to drive the 80 miles home I suspect that either the wrongly filled supply tank still contained a lot of diesel so you filled your tank with a mix of fuels, or you topped up your fuel tank that still had a lot of diesel in it.
I suspect you are right. I managed to fill my diesel Mondeo with unleaded a couple of years ago - a complete fill-up from almost empty. It lasted exactly 6 miles on the road before juddering to a halt. I had it towed to a nearby garage (Sunday afternoon, sod's law) and they drained and flushed it, and relieved me of £250. It's done about 15k since then, and no ill effects that I can see. Reading this thread, I can see I was quite lucky, as the almost pure petrol stopped the car dead before it could do any real damage. I hope.

(Not content with that piece of stupidity, the very next week I managed to fill the motorbike with diesel. Being an old-fashioned thing with a petrol pipe and a carb, that was an easy DIY fix.)

any warranty will now be invalidated too.
I would contact your insurance co and ask them to take action against the garage.
Your finance co who have an interest in the car may also add some weight to your fight.

I doubt if any serious garage with a reputation to keep is going to even bother reducing a settlement because of the OP experiencing a, "judder". The OP isn't an expert and if they had asked on this forum what could be causing a, "judder" they would have been advised on here that it was definitely anything from wheel balance, DMF, coil pack to over-full ashtray.

Get the codes read as EML is on.
Petrol can damage the seals inside the diesel pump which can cause fueling issues that cause the EML to come on.

Was the EML on during the 80 mile drive? Or only after the 'repair'?
