Zuto customer care stated that I have to collect it. I wanted to get it repaired originally when I was sorting things out with the dealer but after several weeks of not getting anywhere and speaking to citizens advise they told me to speak to Zuto and talk about my legal entitlements and they then (few weeks later) arranged a repair with the dealer even know I stated that I reject the vehicle (this was 8 weeks ago)
So the car has been repaired by intervention of Zuto and the dealer has fitted another engine?
And you've let the car sit there for 8 weeks?
I'm not sure how you think Zuto have let you down? The car has been repaired?
Have it inspected if you are concerned about the quality of the repair.0 -
The total time it took was 15 weeks to repair it, counting from the day the dealer and Zuto were both contacted about the breakdown Zuto said sort it out with the dealer and he said he will fix it. It was 8 weeks ago when I made a formal complaint to Zuto and rejected the vehicle. The repair started on 27th of July and its done today which Zuto and the dealer arranged and both sides payed 50/50.0

Is that not a good outcome? You had a major problem, however Zuto worked with (and presumably applied pressure to) the dealer to sort it?
I would say you have extremely little chance of rejecting the car under these circumstances.0 -
my main issue is with the dealer although I have nothing legally against him as I technically do not own the car.
There have been so many issues with it and promises to send the part out and acting clueless as if some of the faults were never there even know its on one of the MOT certificates.
This has been a long process which resulted in me loosing out on quite a lot of money and I had to turn down a job offer as I was unable to get there daily due to the fault with the car. I doubt any of this is taken into consideration all they see yeah its been 15 weeks but the matter now is sorted and you can go and collect the car. But the matter hasnt been resolved this was dragged out by both the dealer and Zuto which now ive been in the ownership for over 6 months which I doubt illl have a leg to stand on if I take any legal action.
I know i sound ungrateful in this situation as the major repair has supposedly been done but you have to also see it from my perspective and how the matter has been dealt with through out the duration of 15 weeks. All I done was follow instructions from Zuto without getting a word in.0 -

I disagree, if they fail to offer a remedy within reasonable time op can again resort to rejectance... 16 weeks is crazy time.0 -

The car has been repaired and sitting ready paid for 50/50 by the finance company and the seller and the O/P wont pick it up?
I dont think you'd have a pups chance in court if the dealer / finance company said they'd fixed the car0 -

Well that depends when op rejected it and if a judge was to deem it reasonable. If op rejected at 6 weeks and bought another car, the fact a month and a half after that the dealer had the car repaired is irrelevant.
16 weeks is appauling. They don't deserve ops understanding at this point.0 -

Rejection is very difficult and could take months from this point, all of which time the O/P is without the car and still paying the finance.
And no guarantees at all of success.0 -
The first time I rejected the vehicle was 6 weeks before the repairs had been started yet before that dealer had 6 weeks to repair it and on top of that another 3 weeks for repairs to be done.
I have stated that I would be happy to get the car repaired by someone else not the dealer himself at that point but that was not taken into consideration. They stated that the dealer should be given sufficient amount of opportunities and time to repair the vehicle.
The dealer did give me a car to use but it only lasted 2 weeks then it spent over a month in a local garage as he wouldn't pick it up and I had no where to keep it.
I have contacted financial ombudsmen and they have passed my complaint onto the lender him self (barclays) and they will respond within the next few days although they want me to pick the car up.
I will try to fight this though financial ombudsmen if the lender does not approve my rejection as such.0 -
this is just for those who care and/or who are going through similar issue as me.
I just got the car back from the dealer to get an inspection done. It took me over a month to get the dealer to arrange a delivery of for me to collect the vehicle. He claimed to be busy as to why he did no respond to me for many weeks.
After contacting financial ombudsmen I found out that Zuto the finance supplier wasnt the technical owner of the vehicle therefore I had to sort everything out with barclays as they provided the loan.
Comunication with them hasnt been that great ether. I requested them for relevant paper work for the repairs that have been done so i could get them inspected. Also as a new engine had to be fitted i wanted the mileage and age of it also
no paper work had been supplied, ive asked for information from barclays but i have been once again ignored and after taking back the car to do an inspection as advised by barclays from some time ago, there are still many faults with the car (which by the way barely starts) it has no TAX so i havent been driving due to me having to get a new car as this took 5 months i had to move the car that had been returned to me to get a better overview but i realised majority of the repairs have not been done even known barclays have claimed other wise. Oh they gave me £50 as a compensation for having no car for a few months.
Now as i have received a final letter this can go further on.0
