UKPC PCN - I signed a contract when I obtained a parking permit

Does the link to the regs say what the double yellow lines mean?
if not are they just that paint with no meaning in the "contract".
Is your permit linked to the car in any way like you gave the REG when you obtained it.
if not, all they know is you entered the carpark(could be in any car) unless they have evidence you were using that permit that day in that car.0 -
Hi Getmore4less - Yes, the permit is linked to the car registration, and the link to the regulations says that parking on double lines isn't permitted.0

Hi Guysdad,
The sign has the university logo on it as well as UKPC, and says that parking enforcement is managed by UK Parking Control Ltd. "This land is private property and parking enforcement is managed by UK parking control Ltd". Also says that "The university may hold and share personal data relating to vehicle owners and drivers in connection with parking enforcement".
I'd upload a photo, but I'm too new to this forum to do so.0 -
Hi Bazster - that's good to hear. The sign does make it clear that UKPC is managing the lot for the university (see my reply to GetMore4Less).
So would your advice be to file an appeal on the basis that there was no valid contract with UKPC? I'm still within 28 days.
Thanks all for your tremendous help0 -

File an appeal on all the usual points (see the Newbies thread) but enhance it to make the point above i.e. that there cannot be any contract with UKPC because they've offered you nothing you didn't already have, and you've paid them nothing because you're paying the university.
But don't do anything until the RK gets a notice in the post.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Sorry to bump this thread, but I believe I have had (another) pcn from the same University. I am about to write out my first (soft) appeal to UKPC. Should I mention the self ticketing model they use? (Security staff employed by the university issue the tickets on campus - in a previous email I have had the University parking staff state that 'my colleagues' were the ones issuing the tickets).
All appeals get sent from UKPC to the University to decide their fate.0 -
So what has happened between last August and today? Has it died/been settled or what?0

No idea about OP, I am a different person, but I think I received a PCN at the same place as the OP (I have contract with University etc)
That will teach me to read things properly!
Convention on this forum is for each new case to post on a new thread so that individual answers can be tailored to meet the person. (It also stops skim readers like me missing that it is a new thread. )
Can you start your own and put some detail in so we can help?0 -
