Home insurance claim on leather sofa

Our dog has damaged our Leather corner sofa. Thankfully our insurance covers us for pet damage. An assessor has visited and can repair the sofa, however I have my doubts about the colour match due to only the affected part of the sofa being repaired and the rest of the sofa being discoloured naturally. Has anybody else had a sofa repaired and how successful was the colour match.

Now you have had an adjuster visit it is presumably too late to cancel your claim - (as a repair may be not much more than your excess plus you will have to pay premium increases for cover for years following the claim and loss of any years of no claims).
All you can probably now do is go with the adjusters decision and if there are problems after the job is done take it up with your insurer.0 -
May not have been an adjustor, it may have just been an inspector from a supplier.
They will always try to repair, and if this is unsuccessful then they will replace.0 -

This was who came. Sorry for any confusion. Thankful I have zero excess to pay.0 -
Let them repair, if it doesn't work they will consider replacement.0
