Grease stains in new washing machine

Hi all, I am a newbie so please be gentle with me?
My daughter has had what appears to be grease marks left on her clothes after washing them in her washing machine.
I have searched and searched on the net, as well as read a post on MSE, but cannot find an answer to the problem.
Most searches suggest the powder/liquid, the fabric conditioner/softner, or the bearings leaking. But this machine is a new replacement machine (1week old) which was replaced by the company because of the same, ongoing fault with the, "old" one (18mnths old approx).
She had an engineer called out but he could not diagnose or fix the issue, and he even said the last machine was exceptionally clean inside and out so this rules out any build up of gunk in the drum or door seals.
My daughter and I are truly at a loss and it has cost her a fortune replacing her, and her child's clothes, and she has tried different powders/liquids and conditioners/softeners.

Please! We would be really grateful for any help or assistance, so many thanks in advance.
I do have some pictures, but not sure if allowed to post them?

Two machines giving the same rare problem to the customer, the only common part is the customer! Sorry, I don't mean that to sound rude but it's usually the case, there is nothing greasy inside the drum of a washing machine. It's difficult to diagnose the problem over the internet but the usual advice is to use better detergent or softener & don't overload. Does she use a lot of make up? this can leave greasy marks on some things, towels in particular.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
  • Thank you for your reply, and no offence taken, but that's why she refuses to phone the supplier again, because she does not want to look silly.
I know there's nothing greasy in a wm drum, but something is definately leaving the stains.
She does not use a lot of makeup, and she does not overload the machine. She has tried different types and amounts of detergents and softeners but the problem still exist.
I'm wondering if it's anything to do with the water, but she lives in a flat and as far as we know, no other resident has this problem and it's doing my nut in trying to find a solution.

What does she do with the clothes after they are washed? We get black marks on our clothes if they are put in our tumble dryer. It needs repairing (drum bearings) because it allows items of clothes to become trapped between drum and door seal, causing a black mark. If your grease marks appear straight out of the WM, is it possible that clothes are trapped between drum and seal?
  • Hi Le_Kirk,

Thank you for the reply, any suggestions and/or ideas are most welcome.
She does not have a tumble dryer and the seal on washing machine has been checked.

Have you seen this yourself? Have you tried putting in a clean white sheet, or even handkerchief, and washing it on the normal setting but with no powder or conditioner?

What temp is she washing on? Try a service wash on a high temp (60C minimum).

I am sure that you have tried this, but she really needs to do a few washes in another "known" machine - could she use yours? Inspect the load very carefully, put through your machine.
If you think that the problem remains with her machine, then I think you have to follow Biggles' suggestion and then contact head office.
  • Hi guys, thank you all for your imput, and sorry for late response, internet problems today.

@Biggles: Yep, seen it myself, and got some pretty photos too! But not done a wash without detergents or softeners. All clothes were clean and white when they went in.

@macman: Usually 50c or 60c. According to manual, recommended service wash is 90c. But don't see why it should need one already? And the older machine had had a few of these.

@jackyann: I have done washes for her in my machine and they have been okay.

Still at a loss but thank you all once again and will continue with the process of elimination?
