Octavia Servicing query

I bought a 61 plate Octavia 1.8 TSI petrol car in February this year. It was explained that it had a "long service interval" which meant it didn't need servicing annually, which 9from looking at the on board computer) I remembered would be about the end of August. The on board computer says now service in 18 days (2 years I think since its last service) or 3000 miles.
Now the MOT is due at the end of February, should I wait until then till I take it for a service and MOT? I am a pretty low user and have only done about 1,500 miles in the past 6 months (and don't envisage a significant change for the coming 6 months, and do have a bottle of the correct oil (VW 504 00) to keep the oil topped up.
Do any other VAG owners have this long service interval and what would you do?
Thanks

Get it serviced in 18 days.0

Even if you do nothing else get the oil changed at least annually. Long service schedules are for fleet accountants, benefit not for the benefit of the car.0

After the cost of a four year old car the cost of a service every two years is negligible. Any repairs done now during the service are unlikely to deteriorate much and will be needed for the mot in six months.0

If you don't do cars having the MOT and service out of sync means someone looks at it twice in the same year.
Minor inconvenience to get the MOT done.
check the fixed price offerings at Skoda for an idea of costs.

you will find that the "variable" service interval that you talk about is for high mileage users.
For your miles it should be annual or 10000m whichever comes first.
From Skoda:
"All new Octavia, Yeti and Superb models can operate on either a fixed or a variable servicing regime. On variable servicing, intervals are determined by driving styles and conditions of use. The on-board computer will indicate when a service is required which could be up to approx. 20,000 miles for petrol engines, 30,000 miles for 4 cylinder diesel and 24,000 miles for V6 diesel. "

Not serviced yearly = I would not buy it. Even if the mileage is low for that year. Low miles to me means it should be serviced more often not less.
I do lots of short journeys and change my oil every 6 months.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I'm also a low mileage Octavia driver. Mine came set to the variable service interval when I got it new but on the advice of those who know far more about cars than me I switched to annual servicing."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0
