HSBC Current Account - DMP

Hi
Me and the wife was in a DMP with Stepchange in 2010 and upon checking our credit file with Experian, HSBC current account was defaulted on a date of Oct 2013!
Since 2010 we have never had any 'rejections' from any creditors and we have never missed any DMP payments. The DMP is now complete and only HSBC are the only people thats decided to slap on a late default.
I have a natwest current account with an overdraft and they never defaulted me.
Can HSBC do this so late? (the account is settled now)
I have already sent a letter and also formally emailed a complaint about this.
This is impeding me to remortgage even with a subprime as lending criteria states - No defaults are allowed that are less than 2 years old...
yours frustratingly

With an overdraft the default date is usually in relation to when the overdraft was officially recalled, which can sometimes be quite a bit later than when you enter the DMP.
But its worth a complaint and asking them to backdate the default to when you entered the DMP (or a few months afterwards).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
