Is there definitely no wifi? I know in Wrexham hospital it comes up as 'spark wifi' not as hospital wifi for example0

If you don't mind paying £36, this Huawei 5573 comes with a 25GB allowance for a month.
Once it arrives, call EE to give them the 30 day notice of cancellation.
25GB should cover his viewing needs.
If he is there longer than that month, I'm sending you a solution via PM.0 -
Is there a BT hotspot in the area? If so could you sign up for this

I think it`s possible to use these sims in mi-fi devices.
Maybe someone who has can confirm.0 -
I'm not sure how much he would be able to watch with 10GB for example0

Could be the other patient has his home BB with Sky, and the hospital is within range of one of the thousands of Sky WiFi hotspots.0

I have a three 123 payg sim, £15 gets you unlimited data for a month and tethered fine to my laptop watching a load of films at night. Maybe three will kick off if you try and download several hundred GB but I've had no issue downloading a few gb most nights.
Can even get a cheap mobile (for watching films, no point in 4g) like one of these from carphone warehouse
Huawei y330 £0.99p

or the lumia 435, for £4.99- £14.99 depending on network

A lot cheaper and a lot more flexible than a dongle, plus with the three sim it may not work in a mifi, but will work in a phone0 -

TV can consume a GB every 90 mins. So one of these SIMs - if still available - in a 5" phone would be a solution maybe. No chance of being banned fro tethering on your own phone. Remember that not everyone has good near sight though for TV on 5", and from personal experience, hospitals indoors are notorious not-spots for 3g.
BTW what's wrong with the wildly overpriced hospital bedside TV units?0
