From me too - it sounds pretty intense, from what I'm hearing. I'm sort of isolating myself at the moment so I can go on the probate trip next week :o it's v important to me.
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Hugs KC.

Cold of doom is in retreat. Car is mended after the prang. Fire is on and its the WEEKEND!

A teensy bit emotional about 3 weeks left of work. I do work with some lovely folk.

    Thanks SHS!

There aren't many changes of job for teachers at Christmas, and its an emotional time anyway - hope you can enjoy these last few weeks.

  • Will you be able to see your (soon to be) old coworkers when you move, or are they not that kind of close? It makes a huge difference working with good people, so hopefully you can keep in touch!
  • This sounds horrible, but I just don't have time.

Full time work, the social lives of three children and the pets - there is no scope for extra.
  • It's not horrible, you just have different priorities. I have nieces, so I see my SiL trying to juggle things. (We try and make time for them and the girls so I don't feel guilty knowing they can't come if we say 'adults only' for parties etc.)

Hopefully your new place will also have good people?

You are moving to a new post, new people, new pupils. Time with people from your 'old' sch might end up in unfavourable comparisons, or unhelpful conversations. And you are far too sensible to want to get drawn into any of that :D.

  • My new headteacher was apparently on stage doing Karaeoke last night...

Update on the car crash. The car has been mended (and washed!!). The bill has been covered by the employer (a neighbour I haven't yet met) of the person who crashed into me.

No insurance involved. Life is so simple when people do the right thing.

    Thats good news, SHS.

I'm with other peeps that it doesn't sound bad if you leave even *nice* people behind because you're moving post - there are plenty of nice people in the world that we can't fit in to our schedules, particularly people like you with the work, the kids and the pets - that's absolutely full pelt!

  • Haha, will you be joining them next year? :p

That's great news on the car, at least it turned out all right in the end.
